Bilstein B8 5100 Shock and Spring Lift Kit

Bilstein 53-291431 combines four B8 5100 shock absorbers with four matched coil springs and supporting components for select 2018–2026 Jeep Wrangler JL applications with a front winch. Unlike a shock-only package, this kit includes lift-producing springs.

Included components

  • One Bilstein 53-291431 complete kit — manufacturer application rows specify 0.75, 1.5 or 2.5 inches of lift depending on vehicle configuration
  • Four B8 5100 shock absorbers for front and rear
  • Four custom-matched, longer-travel, cold-wound coil springs
  • Supporting components and hardware described by Bilstein for this kit; consult the installation instructions for the detailed parts list

Vehicle fitment and front-winch requirement

The exact-part manufacturer application table lists select 2018–2023 Wrangler JL configurations. Its application notes specify With Front Winch. Confirm your exact model year, engine, trim and vehicle configuration in the manufacturer table before ordering. Do not treat this as a universal kit for every Wrangler JL.

Some application rows also specify Without Xtreme Recon Package. Apply the restrictions on your exact vehicle row rather than assuming a trim name alone establishes compatibility.

Lift height varies by application

The manufacturer table lists 0.75-inch, 1.5-inch and 2.5-inch lift figures across different configurations. A blanket 2.5-inch claim does not apply to every listed vehicle. These are application-specific lift figures, not a selectable ride-height-adjustment range. Use the exact manufacturer row to determine the expected lift for your vehicle.

Tire clearance and wheel requirements

Bilstein lists a maximum 35-inch tire on specified Rubicon applications and a maximum 33-inch tire with stock fenders on specified non-Rubicon applications. These limits depend on the exact application and wheel setup.

Many application rows require 17- or 18-inch wheels with a maximum 4.75-inch backspacing. Some rows specifically allow factory 20-inch wheels; another specifies a maximum 4.75-inch wheel backspacing without a wheel-diameter qualification. Check the notes for your precise configuration before choosing wheels or tires.

Design and installation

Bilstein describes this kit as a bolt-in system using factory mounting locations, designed to improve ground clearance and wheel travel while supporting a controlled ride on and off road. Follow the supplied installation requirements rather than assuming additional parts are unnecessary for a modified vehicle.
