Bilstein B8 5100 Rear Shock Pair
This package supplies two Bilstein 24-187237 rear shock absorbers for compatible Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban 1500, Avalanche and GMC Yukon / Yukon XL 1500 applications. Suspension-package restrictions apply; a model-year match alone does not establish fitment.
Included components
- Two 24-187237 rear shocks — accommodate 0–1 inch of existing rear suspension lift on the listed applications
Vehicle fitment
Applicable manufacturer rows include select 2000–2014 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban 1500, 2000–2014 GMC Yukon and Yukon XL 1500, and 2007–2013 Chevrolet Avalanche configurations. Confirm the exact year, trim and suspension equipment in Bilstein's application table before ordering. This listing does not establish Silverado pickup fitment.
Suspension-package restrictions
- Applicable rows exclude Z55 Autoride suspension. Tahoe and Yukon rows also specify without Police Package.
- Air-leveling suspension is excluded where specified in the exact application row, including many later Yukon and Yukon XL applications. Do not assume compatibility with an air-leveling system.
- For listed 2000–2006 Tahoe and Yukon applications equipped with ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride Nivomat suspension, Bilstein requires spring part number 199021 in addition to the shocks.
- For listed 2000–2006 Suburban 1500 and Yukon XL 1500 applications equipped with ZW7 Premium Smooth Ride Nivomat suspension, Bilstein requires spring part number 199020 in addition to the shocks.
The required conversion springs are not listed as included in this rear-shock pair. Verify the vehicle's suspension option codes before purchase; these shocks alone are not a complete Nivomat conversion package.
Rear lift compatibility
The 0–1-inch range describes existing rear lift accommodated by the shocks. These shocks do not raise or level the vehicle. Front shocks, lift springs, spacers and blocks are not included in the listed package.
Some older application rows also list 5-inch rear lift compatibility only when using a rear stock shock relocation bracket. That conditional note is not a general 0–5-inch fitment range, and no relocation brackets are listed as included.
Bilstein 5100 design
The B8 5100 uses monotube construction and digressive valving to respond to changing road inputs and help control suspension movement. Match the shocks to the actual suspension configuration rather than selecting by tire size alone.
