Will Fox Performance Coilovers Fit My 2015–2020 Ford F-150?

If you're researching suspension upgrades for your 2015–2020 Ford F-150, Fox Performance Series coilovers are one of the most popular bolt-on lift solutions on the market. This guide covers fitment compatibility, what lift height to expect, and what you need to know before installing.

Fitment Compatibility

  • Years: 2015–2020 Ford F-150
  • Drivetrain: 4WD Only (these coilovers are NOT compatible with 2WD models)
  • Lift: Approximately 2 inches of front lift
  • Cab/Bed: Compatible with all cab and bed configurations (Regular, SuperCab, SuperCrew)
  • Trim levels: Compatible with XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum — not designed for Raptor models

What's Included

The Fox Performance 2.0 Coilover IFP kit for the 2015–2020 F-150 4WD typically includes front coilovers and rear shocks as a complete set. The Internal Floating Piston (IFP) design separates oil from nitrogen gas, providing consistent damping performance both on and off road.

Installation Overview

This is a moderate-difficulty install that most experienced DIYers or any off-road shop can handle in 3–5 hours:

  1. Front: Jack up the vehicle and support it on jack stands. Remove the factory strut assembly (3 upper bolts, lower pinch bolt). Install the Fox coilover in its place and torque to spec.
  2. Rear: Support the rear axle, remove factory shocks (upper and lower mounting bolts), and install the Fox rear shocks.
  3. Alignment: A front alignment is required after installation. Budget $80–$150 for a professional alignment.

What Else Do You Need?

  • UCA (Upper Control Arms): Not required for 2" lift, but highly recommended to maximize suspension travel and correct geometry at lifted heights.
  • Leveling or larger tires: With 2" of lift, most F-150 owners run up to 33" tires without rubbing.
  • Roost Guard option: Fox also offers a version with a protective Roost Guard for off-road use — great if you run trails or gravel roads frequently.
